Background
Pusong Bayani (Heart of a Hero) is a CIRIS campaign and four-episode series in which host Gerald Anderson and his Kasanggas travel the shores of the West Philippine Sea and meet the communities who live and work there. It follows Alon ng Kabayanihan, which we also built, and it needed a home of its own: one place to watch, pledge, and act.
The challenge
The site had to do more than host video. It needed to release episodes on a schedule, turn viewers into signatories, and point them to the coastal businesses featured in each episode, in both Filipino and English, for an audience arriving from social media. It also had to follow the campaign's established creative closely.
Our approach
We planned and built the site as a custom web app, working from the campaign creative team's layouts. Each episode has its own page with the player, the story, the communities and locations it visits, and links to support the local businesses featured. Episodes unlock on their release dates.
The pledge lets a supporter sign their name and receive a personalized digital certificate, generated on the spot and made to share, with a live count of pledges on the homepage. A downloadable travel guide, a West Philippine Sea quiz, and a link to the Philippine Coast Guard's e-Tip system complete the take-action section. The whole site runs in Filipino and English, and we supported it through launch and each episode release.
The result
Pusong Bayani launched in August 2026, with all four episodes released by September. The site gives the campaign a single home where watching leads to action: a signed pledge, a planned trip, a purchase from a coastal community.
